It's always a nice surprise to see an old homestead turned into a large park space instead of getting gobbled up by large developments and buildings. The former Harvey Farms is such a story that will delight all ages for generations.
Cedar Hills is a small city devoted to creating high-end destination parks and playgrounds with Harvey Park as a perfect example! With a large area of land to work with, city officials designed an amazing array of activities from a huge space-themed playground to a planetary splash pad, with FreeNotes musical instruments, swings, track rides, and more tucked in for additional play. This area is surrounded by tennis and pickleball courts, ball fields, trails for cycling and jogging, and a gorgeous view of Mount Timpanogos.
Working with skilled architects, Berliner’s team of designers, and LuckyDog’s Creative Play Designer, Cedar Hills created a dream playground. The 24’ tall Berliner Pegasus anchors the playground with a cat walk around the top and a massive tube slide and bridges leading to the next adventure. A Cosmo creates a perfect place to perch and wait for a turn on the track rides, while modified Triis and bridges make the toddlers feel just as important as the big kids with their own one-of-a-kind rocket ship slide! A wide variety of additional Berliner pieces dot the playground to give children all the great spinning, swinging, and rocking action that a great playground provides.
This whole design is blanketed with a custom woven turf by Forever Lawn with planets, stars, and the sun depicted in bright colors with incredible detail. The turf design was a detailed collaboration and shows that anything truly is possible when creating a playground with LuckyDog Recreation and their teams of experts!
We would also like to take this time to recognize and applaud our installation crew. Not only are these structures quite large, but they are as unique in assembly as they are in design. Berliner recognizes our Utah installation crew as one of the most knowledgeable and skilled installers in the United States and often rely on them for critical feedback on ways they can improve their equipment and installation manuals. We are so proud of the work they do!
