Pioneer Park Playground - Cheyenne, Wyoming

Ready for Play Memorial Day, 2021

The new playground equipment at Pioneer Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming is part of the full-service Community Recreation and Events Department of the City of Cheyenne, Wyoming that includes a small neighborhood recreation center, skate hockey course, and baseball field. The new playground equipment is a welcome replacement from the old equipment that was supplied and installed by LuckyDog Recreation and funded in part by a Community Development Block Grant.

Teresa Moore, the City of Cheyenne’s Community Recreation and Events Director, sought the advice of an expert, her 7 year old granddaughter Keeli for advice on what she thought kids wanted in a playground. When the designs by several playground vendors that service the eastern part of Wyoming put their designs into the pool, LuckyDog Recreation came closest to recreating the design imaged by Keeli which includes a large tower structure with dual spiral slides, a swing set that has a Playshare™ swing for face-to-face interaction and a curved zipline™. The safety surfacing under the equipment was upgraded from a loose-fill material to a poured rubber installed by subcontractor Synlawn, a local supplier of synthetic surfacing for a wide variety of applications. The Pour-in-Place rubber (PIP) is not only attractive, but it’s inclusive to those with disabilities and all who benefit from this cushy, solid, slip resistant surface.

If you haven’t been to the new playground yet, scoop up the kids and head over for some summer fun. You can’t missing seeing this colorful playground from Interstate 25 and is located at 1331 Talbot Court, Cheyenne, WY. See you there! https://www.wyomingnewsnow.tv/2021/06/07/childs-park-all/ WATCH THE VIDEO
